Madeleine’s walk to her new high school takes her through one of Canberra’s Nature Parks. I went with her and two of her friends on Monday for their first day and took the camera along to record the trip. I was kind of hoping we might see some of the local residents along the way. These are two of several we saw. They raised themselves up a little and pricked their ears and then decided that we looked pretty harmless and went back to their grassy breakfast.
And people wonder what’s so great about living in Canberra.

This kind of thing (aside from the marsupials) would be UNHEARD of in SA.
As an adult, you wouldn’t even cut through bushy land to go to where you’re going. Not unless you want to be attacked or worse. Too many dodgy bush dwellers around.
God I can’t wait for my kids to be able to do this kind of thing. Like I could, when I was little.
