thinking out loud
We moved house about twelve months ago and it has been The Making Of Us. The new house with its bright sun-filled rooms and its quiet neighbourhood and its writing space just for me and creating space just for him… it has changed our focus and improved our lives in ways I could never have predicted.
And it has just struck me, just now as I sat down to try to articulate the feeling in my bones, that this blog is still living in the old house. It hasn’t evolved at all, and I’ve been trying to understand why it hasn’t felt quite right for a while now. I think my blog needs to move house and have a new start. Or maybe a break altogether.
Still thinking out loud. No need to comment, thanks.
I’ll let you know what happens, if something does.
Remember how you did this once before and deleted the old blog? Just don’t do that.
Yeah, not sure about this. This is a re-branding exercise. Sorry to sound a bit ‘commercial’ but ultimately this is the blog that, I hope, people who buy my book will visit. There are some posts that don’t really fit with that. I’m not trying to completely reinvent myself, but I am trying to refine things a little. Hard to articulate, but that’s sort-of it. I don’t want an Author’s Blog that is devoted 100% to the book, I’d like there to still be something of me as a person beyond being the person who wrote the book. Still thinking out loud, but thanks for your suggestion (and implied vote of confidence in my blogging… ta).
