The pups are here.
You think that’s cute?
A minute ago, Saffy got up and toddled out of the crate where she and Darcy were sleeping. She went and had a little drink of water, then came over to say hello to me and we had a little cuddle. After a minute I guided her gently back towards the crate where Darcy had started to whimper in her sleep; her breathing quickened and her legs were twitching as though she was having a bad dream. Saffy crept back into the crate, lay down against Darcy – spooning her – and put her front left leg over Darcy’s shoulder. A moment later they were both asleep again.
You can’t make this stuff up. It took all of our collective self control not to burst into tears, didn’t it Madi?
Yes, it did.

soooooooooo cute and sooooooooo jealous!
adorable! i want to meet them!
Ditto to all above comments, cuteness to the nth degree. Can’t wait to see them. Bet the girls can’t wait until the holidays so they can spend more time with them. xx
Too cute!!
Waaaay too much adorableness. They’re very young, great time to start with good habits a la Cesar Millan. Keep the pix coming!
I can’t handle the cute!!!
Oh they are so cute! Won’t be long and they’ll be toilet trained, unlike human babies!Let the puppy blog start NOW!
I do not believe those puppies are real. They must be stuffed teddy bear props. Too, too cute for words.
Thanks Vanessa. We’ve had a pretty good first night, just a bit of crying (heartbreaking, gut-wrenching crying) but they are up and happy this morning. One of them couldn’t hold it in but the other waited until she was outside. Lots of praise for getting it right, and paper towel for the other times! And yes, the training will probably fall mostly to me! It’s just like toilet training toddlers
Their cuteness rating is off the charts! They’re gorgeous! I’m sure you know this, but as a long time dog owner (and always the one responsible for house training them (when I had babies in the house)) – as soon as they wake up – take them outside and let them sniff around, so that they can get used to going no. 1 outside. Puppies always need to ‘go’ when they wake up. Pretty soon they’ll be asking to be let out to go and do their thing. If you make it a habit early on, it will stick!
